PM Narendra Modi Movie Review: Even The Greatest Stories Need Good Narrators!

PM Narendra Modi Movie Review Rating: 2/5 Stars (Two stars)
Star Cast: Vivek Oberoi, Manoj Joshi, Prashant Narayanan, Boman Irani
Director: Omung Kumar
NOTE: Any of my below comments is on the movie and not the person. So, before bashing, please know I’ve always been a fan of Narendra Modi (and also I’ve never had suicidal thoughts).

What’s Good: A rough idea of what all Narendra Modi has been through – though I can’t vouch for how much shown in the film is a complete truth

What’s Bad: It crosses every limit of calling itself a biopic – it just goes into a different zone from which it never comes back

Loo Break: Two conditions – If you’re some other party’s fan or you’re a die-hard movie buff

Watch or Not?: Rewatch the election results’ coverage that happened today, you’ll be more satisfied.

The story is set throughout the country, but it starts of course with Gujarat. We see Naru aka Narendra Damodardas Modi selling tea for his living. He stays with his parents and siblings with a vision of doing something for the country. Saluting wherever he sees Indian flag and he sees it very frequently, Narendra is confused in choosing his career from – an army-man, a monk or something in politics. He decides to become a monk and goes to hills, to spend the rest of his life.

He meets a senior monk there who teaches him a few important life-lessons over the course of two years. Now, Narendra Modi wants to do something for the country, and hence he joins Gujarat politics. He levels up to the political scenario over there, and free the public from the tyrannical rule over there. He becomes everyone’s favourite but unfortunately is pushed from his own party. He returns back stronger and be the Chief Minister of Gujarat. The rest of the story sums up his race towards the top tier of political hierarchy – Prime Minister.

PM Narendra Modi Movie Review: Script Analysis

Being a biopic, Sandip Ssingh’s story is inspired by our Prime Minister’s life, but it takes way too many liberties to prove a point. I’m not at all denying the greatness of Mr Modi, but the film emotionally manipulates you to believe things. The whole flashback sequences of PM’s childhood, he going to the hills are stretched more than required. Poorly written lines, melodramatic angles, characters overacting just add to the dragging narrative of the film.
It has certain good moments but the majority of the film is filled with many cringe-worthy ones. The last thing it required was pop-patriotism, and it has a lot of it. The screenplay is as flawed as the story; it just doesn’t give you a chance to connect with it. A very good point mentioned by someone at the screening: “I could’ve tried to like the film if it wasn’t based on someone’s real life.” There are many incidents swept under the rug, very conveniently and we know it because we’ve seen it happen.

PM Narendra Modi Movie Review: Star Performance

Vivek Oberoi proves to be miscast. Neither he gets the tone right, nor he gets the look right. He looked similar in the later portions of Mr Modi’s life, but that’s mainly because of the make -up. He goes over-the-top in many scenes with his handwork and the way of delivering dialogues.
Manoj Joshi has done a decent job as Amit Shah. As described in the film he was Sehwag & Veeru to Modi’s Tendulkar & Jai. The chemistry between both the leads could’ve been better, but everything crawls because of a lazy screenplay. Prashant Narayanan proved to be the best of the lot. His portrayal of a corrupt business is filled with sass, and he carries it very stylishly.

PM Narendra Modi Movie Review: Direction, Music

It’s been a streak of very average films like Bhumi & Sarbjit for Omung Kumar. This being a little better attempt than Bhumi, stays one of his weakest works. Everything is abrupt & direction just lowers your interest in the film. Though comparatively, the second half is better than the first, the film lost the viewer in me in the first 10 minutes.
Going by the subject of the film, it never demanded a song. But we’ve so many, without remembering the name of any single one (let me Google). Saugandh Mujhe Iss Mitti Ki – the name is enough. We also have a rap song with a silent ‘C’ in the start; it’s named Namo Namo. No other songs are worth mentioning.

PM Narendra Modi Movie Review: The Last Word

All said and done, the movie lacks entertainment value as it has nothing to offer. Even the greatest of the stories require good narrators, and that’s what this biopic is missing.

Junglee Movie Full Online Reviews Updates Box Office

Junglee Movie Review: Could You Please Chuck It Russell? From someone who has given us The Mask & Scorpion King, this is surely the best of his worst. Star Cast: Vidyut Jammwal (in an all-new avatar, doing ‘action), Pooja Sawant (A fiery Mahout who cusses the bad guy by calling her ‘Kasaai’), Asha Bhat (who acts with the only ‘hope’ of getting character arc), Makrand Deshpande – Atul Kulkarni (WHY?) Director: Chuck (It) Russell
What’s Good: Imagine a good jungle ride with a very boring friend! What will you miss the most about that trip? The picturesque locations and NOTHING ELSE!
What’s Bad: That boring friend gets worse as the trip progresses!
Loo Break: It’s jungle all around, make yourself comfortable at any place you want!
Watch or Not?: Only if you’re ‘wild’ enough to take such risks!

Watch Movie Trailer and Fighting Clips

Junglee Movie starts with taking us through an Elephant sanctuary in Odhisha jumping directly to Mumbai. An animal doctor Raj (Vidyut Jammwal) is approached by a journalist Meera (Asha Bhat) who wants to interview Raj and his father for maintaining an Elephant sanctuary. Raj, who is separated from his dad since years, realises he’s wrong and goes back to his home town to attend his mother’s death anniversary.

On reaching there, he sees everything is changed and there aren’t many people left to take care of Elephants. He meets with his few old friends in Shankara (Pooja Sawant), Dev (Akshay Oberoi) and Bhola the Elephant who’s now the king of the jungle. Having the mightiest tusks ever on an Elephant, Bhola is hunted by the tusks smugglers of Taiwan. Whether or not Raj will be able to save the jungle from the bad guys is what the rest of the story is all about.

Junglee Movie Review: Script Analysis

What’s more shocking than how mediocre this film is that it took four writers (Rohan Sippy, Charudatt Acharya, Umesh Padalkar, Ritesh Shah) to pen its story. It’s the same old template of saving the jungle and its animals, with a very done-to-death twist of adding the bad guys as animal’s body parts smugglers. A lot could’ve been achieved with this template by not following the tradition of what already has been done before.

Mark Irwin’s camera is way too much in the air than required; the aerial shots just get out of hand after a point of time. The story drags a lot, hence even the (at times) good cinematography is unable to hold your attention. Many things such as the subplot of Raj’s deceased mother and Meera being the accompanying journalist add no value to the narration; they’re just the unnecessary clutter added to the jumble.

Junglee Movie Review: Star Performance

Vidyut Jammwal is there, yes he’s just there and we know he can perform some astounding action sequences but still ‘he is just there’. When you know an actor masters in a certain department, you’ve to optimise it and when he’s your main guy you just cannot leave his character sketch half-painted. Vidyut does everything he has done multiple times before (going through a small window in a chasing sequence), and you just expect him to bring something new to the platter (he just brings freshly-baked disappointment). The talent of Atul Kulkarni and Makrand Deshpande is brutally wasted.

Pooja Sawant looks hot but her role limits her to do nothing apart from being on the screen. She has been shown as this fiery Mahout but gets zero chance to showcase the other-than-soft part of her character. Asha Bhat lands up in a needless role and hence never touches the mark to impress. Akshay Oberoi in a cameo is just about good and he shares a well-choreographed action sequence with Vidyut.

Junglee Movie Review: Direction, Music

Oh, Chuck My Chuck! Why every Western director is obsessed with Indian gods? Chuck forces a cameo of Lord Ganesh and that doesn’t even make any sense (till that point I wasn’t even expecting any). From someone who has given us The Mask & Scorpion King, this is surely the best of his worst. If the story and screenplay are at fault, the direction isn’t top-notch too; everything just drags to the finishing line.

Tanuj Tiku & Sameer Uddin’s background score blends in very well with the action sequences. Special mention for the BGM in Vidyut’s Kalaripayattu sequence in the start, and how amazing it’s edited on the music. From the songs, Dosti clicks the best as it builds the connect with Raj and Bhola’s friendship.

Junglee Movie Review: The Last Word

All said and done, Junglee doesn’t offer anything drastically new. It’s slick and stylish but unfortunately pales when it comes to the narration. Could be a timepass television watch but definitely unbearable to sit throughout for even 115 minutes in the theatre. A golden opportunity lost!

More Than One Surprise In BJP's Latest List Of Candidates In UP

LUCKNOW: The latest list of candidates announced by the BJP for the Lok Sabha polls in Uttar Pradesh throws in more than one surprise. Union Minister Maneka Gandhi has vacated her Pilibhit Lok Sabha seat for her son Varun Gandhi. Varun is the Lok Sabha MP from Sultanpur, an area right next to the Amethi Lok Sabha seat of Congress president Rahul Gandhi. Maneka Gandhi will now contest from Sultanpur. No reason has been given for the seat swap, but sources say the move was suggested by Maneka Gandhi herself, because she felt Varun Gandhi was on a sticky wicket in Sultanpur.
Another surprise - no announcement from the party of a candidate from the Gorakhpur or the Phulpur Lok Sabha seats. The BJP had lost both these high profile seats in the 2018 Lok Sabha bypolls. Gorakhpur was represented by Yogi Adityanath before he became the chief minister, while Phulpur was represented by Keshav Prasad Maurya, before he became the deputy chief minister. The BJP has announced candidates for seats next to these constituencies. UP government minister Rita Joshi will contest from Allahabad, that is next to Phulpur, while sitting BJP lawmaker Kamlesh Paswan will fight from Bansgaon, the other Lok Sabha seat in the Gorakhpur district. Western UP's Rampur, meanwhile, is set for a big fight with the BJP officially declaring the candidature of Jaya Prada from the seat. Jaya Prada had represented Rampur twice in the Lok Sabha - in 2004 and 2009 - as a member of the Samajwadi Party. She will be pitted against Samajwadi Party heavyweight Azam Khan for the seat. When she was in the Samajwadi Party, Jaya Prada and Azam Khan never saw eye to eye. Jaya Prada had earlier claimed she was harassed by Azam Khan and received threats from him. "Even as a sitting MP (Member of Parliament) from a party, I wasn't spared. Azam Khan harassed me. He attempted an acid attack on me. I had no certainty if I would be alive the next day. I would tell mother while leaving the house that I wasn't sure if I would ever return home. I emerged out of it," Jaya Prada told reporters at a literature festival in Mumbai last month. The party has also denied a ticket to sitting Barabanki lawmaker Priyanka Rawat. Sources say Priyanka Rawat's alleged rude behaviour towards her constituents and party workers in Barabanki influenced the decision

MARD KO DARD NAHI HOTA 2019 MOVIE Online REVIEW Updates

What's Good: The uncanny mixture of action-humour which never lets you disconnect from the narration, the legend of Mahesh Manjrekar adjoining with legendary quirks of Gulshan Devaiah, dialogues so simple that it makes you laugh & shocked (how could you laugh on such plain lines) What's Bad: When you fly high with a good script, there are few unwanted spots you can hit and that's what brings the film a little down. Loo Break: Maybe, one, in the first half but the second half will hold you tight till the end credits! Watch or Not ?: A BIG FAT FILMY (in legend Ameen Sayani's dialect) JEE HAAAAAAAAAAN !!!

Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota Movie Review: Script Analysis

Vasan Bala's story is batshit crazy and more than its content, it's the kind of treatment it gets that win many brownie points. It celebrates the flaws of vintage Bollywood in style and with no holds barred. An absorbing fusion of old-school Bollywood with a modern twist of humor and action makes this a stick-to-your-seat affair. There are many easter eggs in the film for a 90s ardent Bollywood lover; it's a surprise waiting at every scene to leave them with nostalgia. From the base level of writing, it's a strong movie having some weak spots. It lacks in the first half to build the base, as it takes too much time to get to the point. The whole twin brother scenario is not introduced well which could leave some of the viewers confused. Every piece of the puzzle falls into its place in the second half but it tests the patience. The second half has all the fun, thanks to the cleverly penned and timed dialogues. The best things about the dialogues are - they are not filmy, they are simply written lines mouthed at a perfect time to create the maximum impact.

Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota Movie Review: Star Performance

Abhimanyu Dassani could not have asked for a better delightfully packaged debut. He's a keeper as Surya and manages to hold his charm throughout.I am damn sure he must've been asked 'do not act like a Bollywood hero' while he was being signed for the film. He achieves that brief and does nothing that Bollywood has fed us for years. Gulshan Devaiah is the biggest takeaway for me from the film (sorry, Mahesh sir). Thanks to his amusing character sketch, Gulshan just gets in and gives birth to one of the most entertaining characters of all time. He's flawless and that's what makes him more adorable even as the bad guy. Mahesh Manjrekar is just as high as Gulshan when it comes to keeping the audience hooked. His experience comes into play to bring the house down with a simplistic dialogue such as "Mereko nahi sun na hai." Radhika Madan - that smile, that damned smile, that's where I lost the track of her character graph in the film. She is a beast in the film when it comes to slickly choreographed action sequences, and otherwise, she smiles (and that's enough).Jimit Trivedi does his part as required, nothing extra, nothing extraordinary.

Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota Movie Review: Direction, Music

Vasan Bala's first movie in the theaters and he brings out everything he has accumulated all these years of being a Bollywood buff. The love for cinema is visible from the first scene where you hear 'Yeh toh hona hi tha' (Ek main aur ek tu) suddenly erupting amidst an action scene. The direction falls narrow in the later first half but it picks up extremely well in the second half of the film. This nitpicking might be because of a nearly convoluted script (in the later first half) but nothing major to complain. When it comes to paying a tribute to the cliched Bollywood, how can you not include the guilty-pleasure music? What an underrated album this film is going to have. Some very good song in Tere Liye and gratitude to SP Balasubrahmanyam with Life Mein Fair Chance Kiska; the album is full of surprises. Not the chartbuster material but fits extremely well the narration. A special mention for the impeccable background score which also plays an important role in evoking the laughs during many scenes.

Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota Movie Review: The Last Word

All said and done, Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota celebrates the flaws of Bollywood like never before. Watch it before its too late, and you regret the decision while laughing your heart out in front of your television / laptop / mobile screen months later.

New Zealand Attack Video No one Reported Live Shooting Video During 17 Minute

Facebook: No one Reported NZ shooting video during 17 Minute live streaming New Zealand attack video live streaming Facebook says the Christchurch attack live stream was viewed by fewer than 200 people Facebook says the Christchurch attack live stream was viewed Facebook says footage of the Christchurch shooting was viewed just 200 times during its live broadcast, and 4,000 times in total before it was removed. The company also says it didn’t receive any reports from users about the shooting live stream until 12 minutes after the video had ended.

Over the 24 hours following the initial broadcast, individuals attempted to re-upload the video 1.5 million times. The disparity highlights the specific challenges facing the social network, especially when an attack like Christchurch was made to go viral. Videos of the attack were cross-posted across various social networks, and links to the live stream and a manifesto were posted on 8 chan prior to the attack. In spite of Facebook’s claims, there are reasons to doubt these numbers. The platform’s viewing figures are currently the focus of a lawsuit, which has accused the social network of inflating its viewing figures in an attempt to lure advertisers onto its platform.
The platform’s account of the timing of the first user report was initially disputed by Right Wing Watch researcher Jared Holt, who claimed he reported the video shortly after stumbling upon it via its 8chan thread. Subsequently, Holt said that his report appeared not to have been submitted. Facebook’s account also states that it removed the video after being contacted by the New Zealand Police, rather than a user report, although it says it did so “within minutes” of being contacted.
Now, the challenge for Facebook has become preventing the video from being re-uploaded. The company says it’s generated a hash of the video to prevent any unedited versions from being posted, and is using audio recognition to identify versions of the video that have been screen recorded. 1.2 million attempted uploads of the video were blocked within the first 24 hours, but that means 300,000 versions still managed to slip through Facebook’s filters.
Facebook isn’t the only social network working to stop the spread of footage of the attack. YouTube, Twitter, Reddit, and even Steam have all been working to remove the content or tributes to the attacker.
Update March 19th, 8:05AM ET: Updated with Jared Holt’s clarification that his report appeared not to have been submitted.

Facebook: No one reported NZ shooting video during 17-minute livestream

Facebook says a livestream of last week's New Zealand mass shooting was viewed fewer than 200 times during its live broadcast and that nobody reported the video to Facebook while the livestream was ongoing. "The first user report on the original video came in 29 minutes after the video started, and 12 minutes after the live broadcast ended," Facebook VP and Deputy General Counsel Chris Sonderby wrote in an update posted yesterday. Ultimately, the original Facebook Live video of the terrorist attack "was viewed about 4,000 times in total before being removed from Facebook," the company said. Video of the attack was uploaded many times after the original was removed, and a few hundred thousand videos were view able on Facebook before being taken down.

Marcus Smart violently shoved Joel Embiid to the floor, Got Ejected

Marcus Smart slams it down after getting the steal

The Celtics and Sixers continued their heated rivalry Wednesday night in Philadelphia and things, well, got heated.
The two teams have traded words both on the court and off since last year’s playoff series, which the Celtics won in five games.
Things then got physical tonight as Marcus Smart didn’t like getting knocked down by Joel Embiid on a pick and took matters into his own hands, quite literally, as he got up and shoved Embiid from behind, sending the Sixers center flying to the floor.
Embiid quickly got up and looked to retaliate but he was able to get held back by teammates.

For the second time in the game, Marcus Smart comes up with the steal and finishes with a breakaway dunk on the other end.
